Nature based workshops for doctors
A collaboration with ‘make it wild’
There is increasing evidence that being in nature is good for our mental and physical health, and ultimately good for the planet, yet there is still such a disparity between our knowledge and the action we take for ourselves and others.
Together, Alison and Helen provide a unique blend of nature-based activities, coaching and facilitation, with a strong desire to encourage a greater knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the natural world.
Alison and Helen’s experience of working within healthcare for many years (as an NHS GP and ENT Surgeon respectively), complemented by their unique skill sets and passion for working alongside nature is a powerful combination.
The tranquil surroundings of Bank Woods provide the ideal location for workshops and gatherings where they provide opportunities for group coaching, thinking circles, mindfulness walks in nature, talks about the health benefits of nature and shared wisdom about their career paths and lessons learnt along the way.
All set within the beauty of Make it Wild in Nidderdale. A place where it is possible to step away from the everyday noise, reconnect with nature, others and ourselves and take time to reflect, be present and gain new perspective.
Helen Neave had regional and national leadership roles in health care regulation, following her surgical career.
She set up Make it Wild with her husband, to help the planet and to support biodiversity. Helen understands the value of nature-connection to wellbeing, and it’s now an integral part of Make it Wild’s work. She is a qualified Natural Mindfulness Guide, and an experienced public speaker.
We would love to talk about how we can bring the many benefits of nature into your working environment; be that with your hospital, practice or medical education team. Do get in touch to discuss individual requirements.
